I'd love to know why schools insist on teaching all that super complicated maths nobody ever uses outside the classroom such as Algebra or Calculus?

Algebra is quite the key for bringing maths into the real world.
For me it's comparing prices while shopping. When a brand costs less than another but also has less quantity. Algebra.
It's also a necessity when doing DIY.
