Announcements at the Ball

Post by Ojisama » 14 Aug 2022, 21:55

Many, many, many years ago, when televisions were small, monochrome and uncommon, we used to listen to the radio for entertainment. Sometimes, during the radio equivalent of Mock the Week, there would be a section entitled Announcements at the Ball.

You've probably seen it in some films. At a formal dance, the guests would have their names announced at the door by the Master of Ceremonies.

The idea of this thread is that you announce the names of Comedic Guests using puns and/or word association.

Example. Mr & Mrs Drawers, and their son, Chester! (Did you get it? Chest of Drawers.)

Your choice might be a bit more Geeky.

Mr & Mrs Wars, and their daughter, Star!
To those just starting on the journey of life I say...
Bang your own drum. Walk your own path. Live wildly. Love fiercely.
As you near the end, look back with no regrets.

Don't give up the day job mate, with jokes like that you'd starve on the comedy circuit! :D
