That lonely feeling

Post by Ojisama » 20 Jun 2022, 22:06

I only sleep about 5/6 hrs a day now, but they fall in the early mornings.
To those just starting on the journey of life I say...
Bang your own drum. Walk your own path. Live wildly. Love fiercely.
As you near the end, look back with no regrets.

So long as your taking care of yourself isn't eight supposed to be the usual? I don't know if it's necessary for full body recovery though just stuff I kind of recall from bio class (when I was paying attention).

7/8 hours sleep is the average and the recommended, yes but some people could probably cope with less, depends on the person basically

4/5 hours more than what I sleep, I would genuinely kill for 5 hours a night D:

Ooo! That's bad!

it really is! D: out of all the symptoms i experience as a result of my mental illnesses, the insomnia is by far the most difficult to contend with as it's relentless - especially as i have to be on point for work and other responsibilities ;__; i'd genuinely kill for 5 or 6 hours without the use of sleeping medication, but i guess i'm just really unlucky!

TL;DR - never take sleep for granted~

I'm sorry to hear that. Not much I can do to help I'm afraid.

My son has turned nocturnal. Left to his own devices he sleeps in until 2PM. Has breakfast (in it's most literal sense) then another nap in the afternoon. After eating tea he's on Discord, playing D&D, completing Uni work, and/or gaming until 4AM. The only exception to this is when we go training, in which case there is a 2 hr break to his online activities.
Sounds like he still does a good amount though, with the gaming and uni work and training
I am nocturnal and have been since I started my current overnight job 3ish years ago and the trick to being nocturnal and not lonely (for me) has been to have plenty of hobbies and things I can do at any hour (like games!) I also always make sure to be up in the afternoon/evening so that I can maybe go out and about with friends/family for dinner plans. That helps too, to be out with them when both of our schedules align
