The why did it get all smokey when I was making cookies on it?

I thought it was dont use wax paper in the over, use parchment. Or is it the other way around? Look one of em is flammable thats all Im saying.

they're both flamable, use a cookie sheet instead but it's usually fine if they're just in there for 15 mins at 350

Silicone baking paper is the best tho as it has a much higher heat tolerance (though will still catch alight if it's in there too long) and is the least sticky
