That is true, and thus I have written a bunch of code to do exactly that. I'm sure this has helped quite a bit.
good man.
I champion automation wherever it makes sense.
Yeah, just don't automate yourself out of your job.
Thanks, but incidentally that's part of my goal. Too automate myself out of a job. Realistically, they will always need someone that has some of my skills set.
So unless they hire someone I'm safe. But even if they do, my skills set will get me job if needed. So I'm inclined to make things efficient as possible.

If you are aware of that and you do it on purpose, that's fine.

Another funny option is to automate yourself but not tell it.
Like that urban legend (or was it true?) about that software developer (or was it IT?).

In my case I am a nuclear design engineer. Instead of doing actual engineering work, much of what we do is routine and hence error-prone.
Automation ensures its fine the same way every time while letting the human component (engineers) to do what they do best, which is to actually think about things, perform updates to methodologies, etc.
It's not gonna take anyone out of their jobs, but will make us run more smoothly and open up more opportunities for further innovation.
It's a good thing.

I'm suddenly reminded of the limitations of my tablet and why I hardly ever use it

That's what automation mostly accomplishes. It eliminates mundane and errors of such tasks freeing up employees to think and thus add more benefits to the business.

absolutely.
If an engineer could truly be replaced by a computer, then you'd need to consider the caliber of that engineer

Actually it works too well vertically. It's bad horizontally but surprisingly works better than my phone

My phone is newer than my tablet. Sadly it liked my Tablet better.
Honestly I hate this new mobile on my phone, it's horrible.
Chat doesn't ever work. Navigation is garbage, etc.
