Halloween is just a rebranding of All Hallow's Eve, a Christian holiday that dates back to the 6th and 7th centuries, C.E., and incorporates customs from Celtic/Gaelic harvest festivals even before that.

Sure, the way Halloween is celebrated today is bred mostly from American consumerism, but it is by no means an American holiday.
