No it isn't. While something fashion can come from it you make it a useless decoration. Beds and sofas are meant to be used. The idea of cushions is an old one that people cling to because it provides them with something they are familiar with. In other words it is an old useless tradition people are holding onto that no longer has any real value.
Cushions did add fashion to home before those other items I mentioned became plentiful and useful. Because cushions lasted for awhile, resisted stain, etc. They were a popular item because they were easily maintained. These other items are now easy to maintain and to obtain because of modern technology.
Come to our century and leave the old one in the past already, where it belongs.
If you trying to decorate a home in Victorian style or something similar cushions become valid. Still I wouldn't because cushions are basically useless.

Insanity. Someone please explain this.
Construction of temporary fortifications.
"Every position must be held to the last man: there must be no retirement. With our backs to the wall and believing in the justice of our cause, each one of us must fight on to the end."
Earl Douglas Haig, Order to the British Army, 12 April 1918
So death, the most terrifying of ills, is nothing to us, since so long as we exist, death is not with us; but when death comes, then we do not exist. It does not then concern either the living or the dead, since the former it is not, and the latter are no more.
