Field of sunflowers
Future seeds to eat and spit

The ground started to flood

Got to love a bit of rhyming couplets

Butter kissed,
Never missed.

So tall the flower stand,
Proud and grand.

Bright and never out of sight,
Can fill a room with light .

With its colour so mellow,
That is yellow.

See them standing.
1000 spindley soldiers on parade.
Eyeless faces turned blindly to the sun.
What is their future?
To become food for birds.

I've been away for a bit and only just seen this, so I've rushed a bit ha but this is my bash at it:

Such love I have of summer morns,
A dew drop kiss upon my petals of gold,
Though the rose may have its crown of thorns,
My crown is that of the suns unfold,
Standing tall for all to see,
A beacon of summer hope rising from winters soil,
How high can I reach? the children ask with glee,
As high as heavens, I answer as I uncoil,
I rise with warmth upon a summer dawn,
Such love I have of the summer morn.

Sunflowers are the stars of summer days They shine with golden light and warmth and grace They turn their faces to the sun’s bright rays And fill the earth with beauty and with space

But sunflowers are not only for the eye They also have a purpose and a use They feed the birds and bees that soar and fly And give us oil and seeds and even juice

And sunflowers have a lesson for us all They teach us how to follow our own light They show us how to stand up straight and tall And how to share our gifts with all in sight

So let us learn from sunflowers how to be Bright, cheerful, generous, and free
