Really enjoyed Birmingham, however was disappointed at the limited food and drink offers. The water coolers were always empty and the queue for the one bar was crazy (with limited options when you did reach the front). A decent coffee stand would have been appreciated too, I’d have spent a lot more on food and drink for our group with more choices available.

Dismal and disappointing experience due to lack of organisation and it predominately being solely merch. Nothing more than this was available on the Friday. Very disappointing for myself, my teen and ouf guests.

Fantastic fun, I went Friday and Saturday and had a blast all day each day.

The only minor thing I would say is the Cloakrooms need to be better staffed and prepared. Friday we couldn't use the Cloakroom as it was full so had to drag around 2 suitcases that I needed to transport my cosplay. Was annoyed as I emailed before the event and was told the cloakroom will be available. Thankfully Saturday was no problem apart from the fact you only had 1 staff member manning it all by himself.

Other than that it was amazing, so many wonderful people I met, people were wonderfully polite and friendly, wonderful seeing so many kids having so much fun. I look so forward to August to come back Image

We came to last year's Sheffield event, don't get me wrong it was better than the 2023 one, but it wasn't as good as it could've been.

I hate the Mercure as a venue, it's not very accessible for disabled clients because all the stuff's downstairs, there's lifts yeah but that's not the point.

@Rman23 - I'm very sorry to hear that. Your post implies that you only went on the Friday, and the Conbook does make it pretty clear that the Main Stage isn't open. The 2nd stage was open with a full program of events. Was there something in particular that let you down?

@BengalBoi - That's great! Nice pics as well. Thanks for sharing.

Attended London on Saturday. Way too overcrowded, staff trying their best to control the crowd with one qay systems etc but but was shoulder to shoulder with people most of the day. Last year me and my daughter had a great time, felt a bit let down this year, not much going on, just expected to buy.
Also, since Saturday I have received around 300 emails thanking me for attending, every email has about 700 other people's email address in it. Pretty sure that's a breach of data protection. You might want to get that sorted out ASAP!!!

We sincerely apologize for the multiple emails you received here. Due to a glitch with a new emailing system, our server inadvertently sent out the same email numerous times to multiple people at once. We understand the level of inconvenience here, and are deeply sorry about this.

Please be assured that our team has identified and resolved the issue to prevent this from happening again and have fixed the system. We have also put in place safeguards that will automatically check what is sent out to ensure this would not even be possible going forward.

If you continue to receive emails, please note that would be your mail provider working through it's backlog, which we have no control over. This should cease at some point shortly.

We deeply regret the confusion and inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your understanding. This is definitely not up to our usual very high standards and we are ensuring that something like this never happens again.

Again, we offer our sincere apologies for this issue, and if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly. If you still wish to be removed from our records, then please email us back and we will give you a link to allow you to do this.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Been attending anime league cons since I was 14, now 23, and me and my friends always enjoy them. Over the years we’ve seen several things that have changed with the running of the con some better and some for the worse. After attending all three days of this years 2025 London anime con I must say that the Saturday was just too overcrowded, to the point that it felt incredibly unsafe. Not just that but the systems the staff tried to put inplace just made it worse especially for people with disabilities who already struggle with walking. I must say that Saturday was truly spent queuing the entire time. another thing that me and many other cosplayers have noticed over the years is how incredibly unfair and biased the cosplay competitions are, you can’t allow some competitors to choose their own sounds while not allowing others to do so and then judge everyone equally on their performance, it just doesn’t work and is incredibly unfair when someone in a store brought costume wins simply because they were able to choreograph something while another person who spent months making a detailed costume doesn’t even get the same chance. You also really need to split the competitions between children and adults, it’s all cute to crown a child a winner because they were brave and went on stage but this is then unfair once again to actual cosplayers who spend months upon months and piles of money to make their costume only for a child to win simply because they are a child, most of those children don’t even want to enter the championships while those of us who actually cosplay do but won’t ever get that chance. You either need to have two separate competitions one for adults and one for kids or you need to have separate winners for each category ie one for performance and one for craftsmanship or you need to allow everyone an equal opportunity to actually win, I truly believe that anime league conventions can be very good and fun but there needs to be more thoughtfulness and organisation put into these events, particularly the more bigger and busier ones such as London, tho the cosplay competitions definitely need a complete revamp at all anime league conventions in order to not only be fair to everyone but also to stand on par with cosplay competitions at other conventions across the UK.

My Daughter had a great day yesterday at the convention but managed to lose a Daddy Bears Bones Body Bag 12 inch plush toy, if anyone found it at the Hammersmith Novotel yesterday could you please let me know (it was a gift from a good friend and she’s quite upset at losing it)

We went on Saturday to London, it was way too crowded far too many tickets sold it was actually unsafe and people felt unwell with the heat. The one way system while i understand why it was done was silly and so many people almost got crushed because they had disabilities and couldn’t walk fast.

Lack of food options meant we had to leave the con to go find somewhere to eat which is crazy there wasn’t anything to do at the con beside spend money on merch. Having it over six floors was crazy this venue is not a good idea to use again just due to the layout and the lifts being constantly taken. I’ve been to the Norwich one before and they had some food stands available outside at least.

We won’t be returning just due to how poorly planned this was
