So, as I understand it, Disney decided that employing actual small people to be the dwarves was demeaning and insulting to people who have "dwarfism", so they used CGI for them.

If true, that places it in the same league as anime studios using AI to replace actual voice actors. Why bother with a "live-action" remake if it's just 2 or 3 people in front of a green screen for most of the time. I'm sure the actual small actors would have loved to have a paying gig.

Thing is though, since this was announced last year, some people have been crying about them changing the Dwarves to "dancers" because of "Dwarves" not being PC.

So Disney are damned either way, more to the point, it'll be 9 years on Friday since Disney released the first of the new Star Wars trilogy, and people have been complaining about that ever since! Rather pathetic IMO, especially when they're boycotting Disney in general as a result.

Rachel hasn't been helping her case either with this film, I think it is going to bomb personally.

Personally, it needs more colour for me it is so dark and Snow Whites dress is hideous. Take Beauty and the Beast's remake was Belles dress not as glamourous yes, but Emma Watson also didn't want to wear a corset which is fair because most females nowadays don't cinch our waists everyday cause it is painful, but they still kept the dress just a more modern way.

I don't get why Disney is rebooting old Disney films anyway... It's never going to be good because you're going to be comparing it to the classic.

Some of the remakes have been quite good actually, most notably the Lion King one (and there's a prequel to that out on Friday apparently)

It was announced (on Facebook) last week that Rachel's screen time has been drastically reduced in the movie, even though she's literally playing the title character! It's Facebook so I don't know how accurate it is as they tend to post clickbait articles.

Well it appears social media's gone barmy about Rachel Zegler's apparent lack of media savvy, and her comments about the original animated movie... She's complaining about having to be saved by a man, even though that was literally the point of the end of the original movie.

She's also complaining about a "non consensual" kiss at the end, even though like I said, in the original story, Snow White was asleep for 1000 years, only to be woken up by the handsome Prince! It's literally part of the sodding story and the "Woke" community are crying about it? Make it make sense.

Due to fear of anti-woke reaction to Rachel Zegler's performance.

Thoughts? Personally I'll see this movie next week, and go with an open mind, I've never read the Guardian and it's unlikely I ever will, the only left wing thing I've ever done is vote Labour in local and General Elections.

 

What gets me, is that apparently the main character in the original animated version was German, yet the Internet's currently crying about Miss Zegler being Colombian/Polish? Make it make sense! They're also saying her dress is awful.

Well we saw this yesterday morning, definitely at least a 6.5/7 out of 10.

Miss Zegler's definitely pretty enough for the role despite most of the Internet's crying.
