Would there be a way to contact customs in China? (In English)
Post by Rich-Allen1976 » 12 Jun 2024, 06:07
Following email conversations with magicwardrobes.com, and Royal Mail on Twitter, a costume I've been waiting for, for about 3 and half weeks since last Friday, is stuck in customs in China.
However, I don't know how to contact customs in China, I also do not speak Chinese.
How could I resolve these issues?
I am very aware of Google.

They might be able to update you better with what's happening with customs (eg. Reasons for any delays), get in contact with them on your behalf, or provide you with some contact details for the customs agents dealing with the customs for your parcel.

I contacted Royal Mail on Twitter last week, they confirmed that contrary to what magicwardrobes.com are telling me, the item IS in China, stuck in customs.

I'm guessing they weren't able to advise why it was stick in customs? For example, missing documentation, duty not being paid, etc.

I wouldn't mind but it cost me £32.08 to send the thing 3 weeks last Friday ago.
Also, I sent the Chinese customs an email via a link on their website this morning (which I found after extensive Googling), the email was promptly bounced back.

I didn't even realise you could contact Chinese customs directly.
I would imagine contacting customs is the shipping agent at whatever-shipping-company-is-getting-the-parcel-from-China-to-the-UK- to-give-to-Royal-Mail's responsibility.

(I can't recommend any as I've only used one once far too long ago, sorry)
May or may not work depending if all that's been generated is a Royal Mail tracking number..
If it does work though then you could try contacting them about why your parcel is still stuck in customs and if they can get it to move.
