Would there be a legal way to end a mobile contract without paying it off?

Above.
The O2 network is unfit for purpose at the moment IMO, no signal in most areas of Sheffield, particularly up here in Stannington, which has ongoing issues that are unlikely to ever be fixed.
However, from an enquiry in the Fargate shop yesterday, I have £540 left to pay on my contract, I don't have that kind of funds, nor would Dad let me spend it.
Is there a way to get out of contract if the network isn't fit for purpose?
I am aware of Google.
