Anyone know any good charity shops that'd take old cosplay stuff?

I once got Mum to take an old Bananaman costume to a shop up Woodseats, and they turned it into rags! I don't really want them to do that though, I'd rather they sell it as an actual costume.

I've listed about 3 old costumes on eBay but I doubt they'll sell, and obviously the other option's giving them to Charity but I'd rather not if I can help it.

Funny story, I once went to a fairly formal "End of Summer Ball" at the Royal Victoria Hotel in Town, there was me dressed in a Bananaman costume, surrounded by pretty young ladies in Ball Gowns! I was literally like "HELP! I should be wearing a shirt and tie!" plus I can't dance to save my life, although they were doing Ballroom lessons on the day.

I'd e-mail the Head Offices of some of the leading charity organisations. They sometimes keep "specialist" items for online auctions etc, or for sale through specialist branches. You might have to post them off at your own expense though.

Ex Oxfam volunteer here! Ok, so as far as adult cosplay I personally in my couple of years volunteering there have had to take in adult cosplay outfits. Kids fancy dress stuff, plenty. Less so with adult cosplay. My logic is that if the standard charity shop can take in kids fancy dress then I wouldnt see the issue of just asking any charity shop if they can take cosplay in- usually the people there will gladly take it. As Ojisama pointed out, if its in like... really good condition and/or it looks like its worth a lot then for the stores that have an online shop (the one I volunteered at did) then it will be sold on there which would probably be why you may have never in your life seen a cosplay outfit on the store shelves.

In conclusion- I would imagine most charity shops will gladly take in stuff like that but its hard to say because ive never been in that sort of position so I wont even know what people do when stuff like that is donated. I would go for bigger charity shops because they usually have a wider scope of products to sell.

In actual fact though, I got a message from eBay first thing this morning, one of the 3 costumes has actually sold for the grand old price of 30 quid! The He Man one.
