Is there an easier way to get a new Sky Q remote?

Post by Rich-Allen1976 » 14 Jan 2023, 10:55

Above.

I've just spoken to Sky, Foreign call centre bloke didn't understand me, seems to be a rather annoying ongoing problem that, requesting a new remote for my Sky Q box as the remote doesn't work despite having 2 new sets of AAA batteries.

Is there any legit way to get a new remote other than talking to the non-UK call centre that doesn't understand Yorkshire accents?

In the end, I rang Sky up again, spoke to this very helpful English lady (and no, I am not racist before anyone pipes up) who suggested turning the box off at the wall, leaving it for a minute and turning it back on, I did that, the remote still didn't work.

They're posting me a new remote which will come by Royal Mail next Tuesday.

There is a Sky store in Meadowhall. Try talking to the staff there.

Weather permitting we might pop down tomorrow morning.

In actual fact, my support guy got the remote working yesterday (just needed new batteries! D'oh!)

I wouldn't mind but I did actually try 2 new pairs of AAA batteries! Must've been duds!
