Indeed.
Once upon a time that would have caused a few headaches, but these days most stores are open so...
Although there is a growing number of retailers who are closing for the 2 days of xmas. Let's see if they are so keen when the days fall in the middle of the week.

Yeah like in 2024, because it's a Leap Year, Xmas Day will fall on a Wednesday.
There's also the complete idiots who moan about the shops being shut 1 DAY in the entire 365 days of the year, ie Christmas Day, even the majority of pubs are shut.

In the US, we would get Monday observed as the day off. If it was on a Saturday, Friday would be observed. At least I think it's that way. I have worked out of the home for a bit now.

Over here, as Boxing Day falls on the Monday, most people will be off anyway unless they work in the retail trade.
I still think the shops should shut Christmas AND Boxing Days at least, if not all of Christmas week, what do people need to go shopping for on Boxing Day when they've literally just had a load of gifts (possibly) the day before?

I work in retail, and as much as we’d like the shops will be shut on Boxing Day, sadly that won’t happen. Although if one of the big shops like Tesco’s or Sainsbury’s close on Boxing Day, usually most of the other supermarkets follow suit
