TAGB registered Taekwondo sparring head guard suitable for hearing aid wearer?

Above.

I trained last night as usual, but towards the end of the lesson, Mr S asked everyone, including me, to put sparring gear on to do some light sparring.

However, due to the long time it takes me to put all the gear on versus the short time we wear it to fight, Dad won't take the stuff to lessons, because the last time I sparred, which was towards the end of last November, wearing the head guard killed my hearing aid, and now Mum and Dad won't let me spar, which isn't good because out of everyone last night, there was only me that didn't spar.

I've had a look on Google just now, but I can't find any info regarding hearing aid compatible head guards.

Can anyone help?

TAGB registered Taekwondo sparring head guard suitable for hearing aid wearer?

That begs several questions. What type of hearing aid do you have? Do you need to keep it in all the time, or how well can you hear without it, and what type of headguard do you currently use. Was it the guard that wrecked your earpiece, or a kick on that side of your head?

Is it possible to spar against somebody who can control themselves well enough not to kick you at head height?

I do need to keep the hearing aid in at all times, it's a digital aid, without it I am TOTALLY deaf.

With regard to the head guard itself, it's a large black one that fits my head, like Boxers wear, totally covers my ears.

Also, the fighters know not to kick me in the noggin specifically due to the fact I wear a hearing aid.

And yes it was the guard itself that caused my hearing aid to not work the last time I used it.

Black like Boxers wear. Leather with an opening for the ear, like this?

I use a dipped foam one, which has a cut out where the ear is. Maybe this might suit you better.

I'll have a word with Mr S on Wednesday.

I'm sure Dad will still object to me doing the fighting, but it's still not good that there's literally only me that doesn't fight at the moment.

So following a quick Google yesterday afternoon, I emailed the RNID about this, which will hopefully be responded to tomorrow, I guarantee they won't do anything though or even know what I'm on about.

So the RNID responded yesterday afternoon, they sent me a link to a website called Convells, which originally didn't work, I mentioned it, they sent a working link.

However, due to problems with my both my Bank cards on Paypal, I couldn't purchase it, even though I found more or less the same product on Amazon for less than half the price, I couldn't buy that either.

Why is specialist equipment always 3 times the price it needs to be though?

Due to annoying problems with both my hearing aids coming apart all the time, I'm strongly considering asking the NHS to fit me with a Cochlear implant, after doing some Googling on the subject this morning, I discovered that if survives water and everything, so sweating cobs training wouldn't kill it like it does my hearing aid.

Anyone think it's a good option? I think I'd have to go down to Birmingham to have the Op, as I don't think they do it local, and I was offered it last year but at the time we said no, I've changed my mind now though.

Thoughts?

So following a search on Google, I emailed Sheffield Teaching Hospitals yesterday, they responded an hour ago, they're going to look into it for me to see if I can have the Op internally, apparently they do it up at the Royal Hallamshire so I wouldn't have to go down to Birmingham.

I have an initial appointment about this on Friday up at the Hallamshire, 9.30 AM, I've booked a Taxi from City for 9 AM.
