Based on the 2014 book of the same name by William Gibson, The Peripheral revolves around a woman named Flynne Fisher. Flynne lives in the rural American South and works at a local 3D printing shop, while also earning some extra cash playing VR games for rich people. One day, when she dons her friend's new VR helmet, she gets transported 70 years ahead in time to a futuristic London.
