Has anyone tried Maccies' new vegan burger? It looks interesting but I can't see what it's supposed to taste like - is it meant to be a chicken replica, or is it it's own thing? Would love to hear opinions

I don't get it.
You don't want to eat meat, but you want to eat something that looks like meat, and maybe even tastes like meat?
If you want to avoid meat, then be upfront and order a proper vegetarian option.
Come back the BK Spicy Beanburger. That was sooo tasty.

I tried it tonight (as well as a BBQ Bacon Stack) and to be honest it wasn't anything special. It doesn't really taste of meat or anything although the patty had the same kinda texture as a normal beef patty. it's still a hard pass from me. The BBQ Bacon Stack was much tastier

I honestly don't understand the vegan option either I understand the wellbeing of animals, but isn't eating everything plant base bad for your nutruiants? I could be wrong but I thought you need some kind of protein

You can get protein from plants. Beans and nuts contain a lot of protein. Buddhist monks have a completely meat free diet, and can live to a good age. They don't try to "disguise" their food as meat though. They eat proper, nutritious, vegetarian meals. It is called "Shojin Ryori" Cuisine and is free from all animal products.
(Not the best video but short. Plenty longer ones on Youtube.)

I have no interest in trying a plant base burger. But I don't really like fast food burgers in general.
The plant chicken at KFC does look tasty tho.

All the plant burgers I've tasted aren't bad at all, they're a substitute for meat but just a lil bit off from real meat. I'm still hoping for lab/vat grown meat, that way animals don't have to be harmed in the production of meat and we can get freaky science meat that still tastes just as good :>

you can’t be serious, kfc doing plant chicken… that’s just wrong. Of course kfc is proper chicken, the clue is on the name. The colonel must be spinning in his grave

I won't be trying it. Well, maybe if someone else is buying.

Personally I think it’s good to have both options. I couldn’t eat meat for a while due to my body being intolerant, and it still upsets my stomach sometimes, but I still love the taste, so I like fake meat substitutes. On the other hand my mum is only vegetarian because she hates the taste of meat, she’s okay with fake chicken but even then she would prefer a bean or mushroom burger.

it’s good for when there’s only one vegetarian in the family though!

The idea alone sounds so smelly
