Dude, what's happened to my forum? [Aka Forum Merges and Shuffling - READ!]
Posted: 01 Sep 2019, 16:25
It goes without saying that our forum layout has not been the most user-friendly in the past. As many of you should by now be aware, we will be upgrading our board software anyway toward the end of the year. However, in anticipation of that, we're firstly changing things around a bit as a prequel.
These are the following changes and why -
#1. Cosplay forum is now merged in to Creative Arts to become "Arts, Cosplay & Writing" - Cosplay is, if nothing else, an expression of art. We feel this change will help ensure that instead of two not particularly active sections, we will now have one overall hub of creativity on AL. Newcomers from the events who join this section (as a lot of them are cosplayers) will hopefully also consider posting more general art works and writing as well, giving everything an overall boost.
#2. We simplify into three forum categories from four; Community, Discussion, and Events - This makes things easier to navigate and keep track of on your screen. There are now in total 10 main forums on AL, plus the event forums.
#3. For now, meet topics go into General Discussion - Depending on feedback here this is likely temporary as we will be revamping the events category forums after Alcon. For now, this is where meetups reside.
If anyone has any questions then don't hesitate to ask!
More changes to come forum-wise later on this month.
