Thanks to everyone who organised and attended The Liverpool Anime Con yesterday.
The Organisers did an incredible job and of course everyone who attended created a fantastic atmosphere.
So glad I stayed for the Karaoke, so many great tunes and voices.
See you all in Manchester.  😎

I would've loved to stick around for that, been wanting to do Karaoke for ages, but it would've meant we got back to Sheffield far too late.

Due to ending up in the local Hospital due to a rib injury we were back ridiculously late anyway.

I might try and get to Manchester in April, it's just after my birthday, need to wear a more appropriate costume though, I'll raid the Barn.
I don't beee-lieve it!

Hi I attended the Liverpool event with my daughter and her friend. I just wanted to say how well it was organised. The people from your team were really friendly and helpful. Everyone seemed to have a great time. If I had one minor quibble it was that there was nowhere to buy food that I could find anyway. Brilliant event and we will be returning next year. Peace

For future reference, about 5 minutes down the road from the venue there's a McDonald's.

Just remember to keep your entry bracelet on then you won't have to pay to go back in.

This is my 3rd time going to this Convention and I did enjoy it.

However, I noticed a few vendors selling AI-Generated crap and was very disappointed to have seen they had been allowed to sell this slop.

Also, 90% of the Vendors were the exact same from the other 2 I went to. Also same events, same competitions, etc. Would like some things new to come to as it's starting to get a little boring having the same of pretty much everything plus AI slop and warning my friends not to buy anything from certain vendors they were looking at, warning them its AI-slop.

The raffle I feel on Saturday at least as that's the day I was there could've been done better, as after an hour, people were leaving the 2nd Stage as it was tedious. I suggest using the projector screen to list all the Raffle numbers up on so people could see the numbers, as it was very difficult to hear what numbers were called out. After an hour, my group just left as it was getting annoying.

Might go to the next one in August but if it's just the same stuff again, it will most likely be my last as it's the same everytime, just now with AI-generated scammers pretending to be Artists.

This was the 3rd time we have attended the Convention in London and each time we bring more friends and family. We went on Friday only.

Things we loved: - It always feels such a friendly and inclusive event. Really great to see the posters offering talk/support for people feeling overwhelmed. Loved the diversity of the event. The bands and music were great. The MCs for the stages were good too, particularly getting the crowd involved and listening. The artists are always good to see. My family really love seeing all the different Cosplay outfits and every year there are so many brilliant efforts. The talks and voice actors are so interesting.

Things we thought could be better: -
- The excessive emphasis on shopping really really puts us off. Most of it on the top floor is just tat, I'd rather see the artists upstairs instead of downstairs in small hot windowless rooms. It makes the whole event seem like a shopping festival with talks thrown in. It was difficult to focus/hear talks on the second stage because the shopping stalls take over the space. Please, less shopping!
- Instead of shopping we would like to see more activities, there is so much that could be arranged, things we'd like to have done: - anime art classes; how to use graphics/software; cosplay making or advice; events for different fandoms, more games, competitions, anime writing class, anime make up techniques; history of anime/manga; photography backdrops;
- We thought the K pop dance class was a great idea for the younger kids, but it was really bad. The girl was nice enough, but it was badly prepared, low energy and there was a weird long bit at the beginning about rubiks cubes. The younger kids had really looked forward to it but lost interest really quickly. Had so much potential but felt like zero effort had been put in.
- The catering is a bit limited. Be good if there were some different food stalls or something, perhaps an animaid cafe?
- We met a lot of other teenagers (and their parents) who are finding the anime community recently and wanting to meet other anime fans/friends (that they haven't found at school etc). We thought it would be nice to have a corner/space where people who were happy to chat/wanted to find new friends could go and sit and people would know they are happy to chat/make friends.

We do like the event and so we want to help make it even better.

This is my third one and pretty much all these issues have been flagged up several times and nothing ever gets looked into or changed, sadly.
