Above.
I've just had an annoying conversation on the mobile with a guy called Ken from Sheffield College about the game design course up at Peaks Centre, he basically told me the course is for kids with aspirations to become the next Phil Spencer (MS Xbox game boss) and that at 46 with no desire for a full time career in the industry, the course is not for me, all I wanna do is learn how to make my own games as a hobbyist route.
Would there be any local in person classes in Sheffield for this? I have Googled, and they do a course down at Sheffield Hallam Uni but I don't think I have the Academic credentials plus again, I'm too old at mid 40s.
I'm signed up to a load of game design courses on Zenva.com, Coursera and Udemy, but I don't have a PC capable of running Unity at the Flat, as it's a Chrome OS Desktop, and my Brother won't let me upgrade to an Ubuntu box.
Can anyone help? As mentioned I am aware of Google and use it frequently.

I would suggest Sheffield College, but you have already gone down that route.
I'll get #2 son to ask around at Uni, but don't expect a fast answer. It will have to be for next year's entry anyway.

To those just starting on the journey of life I say...

As you near the end, look back with no regrets.

I wouldn't just look in colleges, I'm sure there are online access courses unless you are after something more credible like a Level 2/3 qualification. I know the question asked for Sheffield but perhaps as a last resort try online? It's worth checking FutureLearn courses, there might be something there. It's only a few hours a week for between 3-6 depending on the course.

I will like to add that Universities tend to offer foundation years if let's say you don't quite meet the credentials but that's worth asking around. I wouldn't worry about the age you are entering university, any adult can enroll

I'm currently registered on courses on Coursera, Udemy and Zenva, however as I don't spend as much time up here at my Parents as I used to, I don't always have access to a Unity capable PC for learning.
Although I will speak to my Brother about that.
I've just emailed my Brother, in fact he's probably on the phone now moaning about me to Mum and Dad.
