Skyrim Co-op Mod released, but there's a catch.

A recently released mod for the popular game Skyrim allows players to team up and complete the same quests, and hunt the same monsters, but there's a catch.

Skyrim Together Reborn allows up-to 8 players to work co-operatively. In fact, the developers say that up-to 30 players can jump onboard, but expect some serious lag issues, as the servers will struggle.

The catch is that only 1 specific version of the game is compatible with this new mod. As the developers explain: “To play Skyrim Together Reborn, you must use Skyrim Special Edition 1.6 on Steam. You do not need the Anniversary Upgrade pad mod pack. In fact, we recommend playing without it. The VR, console, Legendary, and Gamepass editions are not supported. Neither is Skyrim Special Edition 1.5 (aka pre-Anniversary update).”

Despite this catch, the mod has been downloaded over 50,000 times.

If you have the right version, all you need to do once it is downloaded is wait until the introductory scene is played, and then click a ‘connect’ button that will join a server.

You most certainly do need SKSE for Skyrim Together, no idea why this dev said you don't, the reason you need it is because it is a Script Extender that will allow the scripts from Skyrim Together to actually work. For the best experience i recommend a few graphics mods and some gameplay overhauls like Ordinator and Apocalypse.
