I play PS1 games more often on my PS2 then then PS2 games, but I do play both. So yeah I think backwards compatibility is actually used a lot as I doubt I'm the only one. I've known plenty of others who still play the old games they love too.

The fact is I haven't been that impressed with many of the newer games. I guess since I started with the older ones the newer ones just don't appeal to me.

Yeah that statement was one about profits and nothing else.
