In the Nintendo Direct yesterday, a HD version of Skyward Sword was announced for the Nintendo Switch! It will release on the 16th July and can be played either with motion controls or by button only, which a lot of people are very happy about as the motion controls were one of the most controversial factors about the original game.
Along with the game, there's also a beautiful set of joycons to be released
I mean didn't you say it was kind of buggy and stuff Grace?
the original had buggy controls, which is why I’m excited for people to experience it on the switch which has much smoother motion controls. They’re also introducing the option to play it button only without motion so I think that will help a lot of people to enjoy the game without worrying about the controls
im just super interested to see if this version does change the general public opinion of the game, instead of it being seen as a black sheep of 3D zelda games
The feature to return to the sky from anywhere on the open world or even a dungeon wasn't in the original, so it's not like locking some of the original content behind a paywall, but it still sucks adding a pay to win feature.
Buuuut. It's a Zelda game so will almost certainly get it eventually

See, i'm VERY in the middle with it.
At first I did consider cancelling my preorder because I was under the impression (from the tweets I saw) that they were paywalling something that was in the original, which would be so wrong imo.
But if they're just locking something new and it doesn't affect your game then.. I don't care too much? I mean, it definitely sucks, and it does worry me about the future of amiibos, but at the same time amiibos have ALWAYS unlocked extra stuff. It's just DLC but you get a figure too. So I don't see why THIS is where people are drawing the line
