They set the bar really high with SOMA, I wonder if they can match or 1-up it with this.

Amnesia: Rebirth Reveal Date

You know what, I actually think this looks really cool. Never really completed the first one, and I have never touched the second one so overall I wouldn't say I follow the franchise massively. However it does look like its taking a different turn compared to the other which will be interesting to see.

AFAIK The second game isn't really worth touching. It's made by a completely different team, The Chinese Room (The guys that made Dear Esther) and supposedly it's a bit of a flop. It has no ties to the first game either so AFAIK you're not missing out on much.

It also looks to me like Rebirth may be taking a more modern time period (Relative, it still looks like it's taking place quite far back in time.) than The Dark Descent. So I'm not expecting direct ties to either AMFP or TDD.

But I am looking forward to the game. It looks like it's leaning harder into the supernatural elements than AMFP and TDD did.

I hope it has a good story because SOMA's existential horror story was great. Even if Simon was a fustrating character.
