Worst:
-Zestiria
-Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
-World: Radiant Mythology

Best:

I dunno. The worst ones are easy to nail down because they're significantly stinkier than the rest. Most of the rest of the series is pretty middling so it's harder to order them, it works better to just have them in general groupings. Up at the top you'd have the first 3 games of the 2D era (Phantasia, Destiny and Eternia) along with Symphonia and Vesperia rounding out the top 5. Graces, Destiny 2, Abyss and Berseria are enjoyable too.

Xillia 1-2, Hearts and Legendia were pretty meh. Haven't played the jappu crappu-only games, but I've heard Innocence it pretty good and Tempest is one of the worst. Haven't heard much about Rebirth.

really?

i've played some of graces, phantasia, and most of legendia, and symphonia

phantasia was the one i found the most dated/hard to play. in fact i ended up accidentally missing like 3 summons/a bunch of magic and a whole dungeon because no one i talked to told me to go back to the first town. i wound up being completely underpowered and getting stomped by everything :( wonder if it was because i was playing a fanslated version of the PS one

also legendia would have been far better if you could actually use the throws/suplexes on enemies instead of waiting until you outleveled them to get the proper weight class spell

That sort of thing is a general problem with the series. The combat technically has depth, but much of it ends up unnecessary or outright useless. You can typically clear 98% of a given Tales game with a handful of basic combos, artes and spells.

cress was cless and claus was klarth

True ending: Cress was Cressalia and Chester was Chester A. Arthur.
