Or alternatively stages can be random battlefield only
But then you lose the variety, especially FD
I mean random for any stage but have the setting so it's flat battlefield style
But then you lose the variety, especially FD

you still get all the stages as options just has to be flat, it’s whats fairest for a tournament

This is incorrect.

A tournament setting would want all stages to be fair, thats where Battlefield style comes in.

you can opt for the limited selection in their original styles. but you've already removed hazards, meaning the stage has lost part of its character.

so overall i agree with Grace, just use the Battlefield style.

Nope. This is incorrect.

Most tournaments run the stages I listed on the previous page, split into starters and counterpicks. Hazards off. The Smash community has limited the stage list since Smash 64 days and Ultimate is no different. It's limited to this degree as a way of being as fair as possible while still allowing for variety.

'Any stage but BF only' is not variety, it's just Battlefield. The variety is aesthetics only, not gameplay. Running a tournament with Battlefield only or Final Destination only is actually less fair than the current system most tournament organisers use because the arrangement of platforms, or lack thereof, significantly grants advantages and/or disadvantages depending on characters picked. If we were to play Battlefield only, for example, with no access to Final Destination, Smashville, Small Battlefield, or Kalos, to name a few, a character like Little Mac would be at a significant disadvantage due to having poor aerial game. Subsequently characters with good platform play would be at a disadvantage if Final Destination was the only stage.

Obviously you can run tournaments how you like, there's no strict rule. But to say that's how most tournaments are run would be incorrect.

True mac is a great machine but for gaming I don't know if so. I like him but for everything else. Motly because I do not have a mouse anymore :)
The first line was funny, but then you lost me.
