It's sort of like being on a chain gang, but without the chain.

You get a pick and a plot, and you start at the bottom where you can mine the essentials - stone, cobble, coal, etc. A separate mine has various wood logs all jumbled in, so you can get wood, just not the saplings.

Every ten minutes you dig, the mine resets, spitting you out in the process.

You sell what you dig, and when you make enough, you can rank up and go to another mine where there's more of the good stuff. You really want to work up the ladder to Diamond.

The whole purpose is to buy your freedom. They want people to advance after filling their inventory about 2 -3 times, and I've fixed the block prices for three loads of 27 stacks.

Plots give you a place to set up, make better gear, etc. Supplies are either brought in from the mines, traded for, or grown on site.

Not sure what happens when you buy yourself out at Z.

These guys also have an Egyptian-themed Survival and a Skyblock.

I was mining to get an idea of what the mix was like, but as they had to op me so I could do the price fixing, I would sometimes break the sides of the mines. So I started digging them out from the middle and gave myself a buffer zone.

The Survival server I'm on is resetting everything on Friday. The weird part is you get a plot to build on (I guess to limit overworld construction) and overworld, nether, and the End reset daily, and those change seeds every two weeks.

So goodbye my experimental plot!

My own server? Or just do it in single player?

The same site has their own creative server with plots that look to be the same size. So I've started rebuilding it there with better tools to plan the next version of my house. So far I've dug out around the central pillar and redone my underground farm ledges, and made a water pond to surround my house.

One of the perks I've picked up on the site is the /chest and /chest2 command - basically two double-chests I can access wherever I am. Perks are not wiped out by the reset, but I don't know if that includes what I've put into the chests? One of the other servers I used to visit before they shut down was doing a reset and gave the players chests to pack up some of their stuff so they wouldn't be completely wiped out from it. Odds are that these will be wiped clean by the reset, but I figured it was worth a shot so packed up all the nice things I've gotten in this version into my virtual chests. If this works, I'll be farming in very short order.

If not, I'll be harvesting in the wild as before.

So i've bugged RedHat into playing with me recently and today while trying not to die of illness I hopped on to distract myself

First I named my kitty which makes me very very happy

Then I spent WAY too long getting rid of basically a whole mountain to begin building a giant bloody castle

I spent a day luring two sheep to our little base so I can start building that endless wool supply

Then I finished the flooring for the castle, and made some fancy steps

I also got a bunch of food from my new fancy Automatic Chicken Dispenser (Or the Automatic Slaughterhouse as my mother called it)

Then I decided to start building the second floor of the castle, with a simple little staircase

And while trying to make the first room into a little mineshaft for Red to explore (I prefer the farming life myself) I ran into a zombie spawner which shall make a lovely little zombie farm next time I play!

Overall it was a very fun 5 hours that helped distract me from pain XD I'm excited to play more next week >_>

Nice pics. I've been wanting to play this and help Grace, but I've not been able to because work and such. I've been ordered to go get lots more coal (or anything burnable) next week because someone used it all :P

Hey I didn't order you! I said "we need more coal" :P

To be fair I was scheduled to work today and yesterday but considering how sick i've been I just needed the distraction

We definitely need a gaming day next time you're on break :P

Survival server I'm using has finished up their reset and the players have stormed in. I've claimed a plot and checked my virtual chests - they were both empty. Oh well, so much for my ark. Plots are nicer, instead of superflat, they are bumpy with grass, trees, small pond with sugarcane and even a couple pumpkins. I'm tempted to harvest and change the biome. I'm a little curious - it's possible that instead of plain stone down there, there may be ores? This will be fun!
