Releasing on my birthday, I have high hopes for this game! My biggest concern is that I hope they don't "lock" the other two houses behind a paywall after you choose one (like they did with Fates) I love Fire Emblem and I'm glad weapon durability is back!

All i can say is gimme.......

Hopefully the gameplay is more like 9 or 10 and not like 13 or 14.

After 13 and 14 (especially 14) I really have no expectations whatsoever of getting decent writing or more than a few decent characters in a sea of terrible walking tropes.

Gameplay in 13 was alright. 14 gameplay was atrocious.

As for the writing....as long as I find it somewhat enjoyable it'll be fine.

Never played any of the Fire Emblem series, can someone recommend a starting point? or are they all pretty much the same?

You can literally jump in wherever you want. I'd recommend starting with Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon (on ds) It's a remake of the original. Great game.
