Eight travelers. Eight adventures. Eight roles to play. Embark on an epic journey across the vast and wondrous world of Orsterra and discover the captivating stories of each of the eight travelers
Octopath Traveler is such an awesome game! I love all eight characters and the world and music are simply fabulous! Previously a Switch exclusive, it's coming to Steam on June 7, 2019! (steam price unknown) so I hope many more people will get to enjoy this game!
My personal favorite character:
Therion ~ Thief

Need more suggestion and recommendation threads like this, just dedicated to the specific games, in order to discuss them easier and answer questions on them.
Played the demo on the switch, slightly underwhelmed by the game. Some nice retro throwbacks, bit ultimately decided it wasn't a must purchase for me. Certainly not at full console price. I might look again next time it is on sale

What underwhelmed you?

I understand the significance of the name, just think its terrible! Also I'm sure it was only meant to be a placeholder title whilst the game was in development.
It's a shame as I loved the Bravely titles.
I'm sure I will break out the demo again at some point and end up buying it eventually!

It doesn't get any better as it goes on. It's a stylized but otherwise highly generic JRPG.
It would have been better if they had bothered writing actual interesting interactions between the 8 main characters, but instead all you do is pick one, help the other 7 with fetch quests or other bog standard RPG busy work to recruit them, and then they're pretty much just in your party as a generic member. Then you grind through the game advancing each of the 8 generally uninteresting, uninspired stories, each time with the 7 characters who aren't having their arcs advanced at the time just tagging along as silent observers.
It's 8 boring stories mashed into one game as though it were some sort of interesting gimmick, except they forgot to actually add a gimmick.
It's kinda like playing 8 budget Kemco games at once.
