So far I've only migrated Pokemon from Bank that are actually allowed in Sw/Sh.

The Switch version gives you a free Japanese Pikachu and you can pick any of the Kanto Starters for another Free Pokemon on the Mobile version. you can earn points to convert into Battle points for Sw/Sh (30 per 1BP)

The Mobile version is where you do all the trading while the Switch Version is literally just the storage server with its own National Pokedex

GTS is the same as always... People requesting what you can't trade through its system

Properly transferred Pokemon (the ones not part of the dex) are legal to use in Max Raids and casual online battles I think, though they're ineligible for ranked/competitive battles right now

You also get a free Rotom and Eevee for using GTS and Wonder Trades for the first time on the mobile version. Trading features are a bit buggy so far though, with people having issues adding friends and using the Trade room. Wonder Trading can take hours to complete.

I'm happy to have my Gen 7 team there now though.

Overall, it's not worth transferring Valuable Pokemon if they're not coded into Sw/Sh but it's worth bringing unneeded Pokemon that you can use as trading fodder.

As for Sw/Sh themselves, I strongly recommend that people avoid Surprise Trade right now as hackers are causing problems with their hacked Pokemon, with reports that they're causing the game to crash or issues using Y-com, so you might end up with a very unpleasant "surprise"

You can also get a Magearna for completing the National Pokedex on Home, apparently a Special one with its original Pokeball pattern, but that's bugged too.

Room Trading seems to be working now. it's basically just Surprise trade but with only 20 or less people.
