you don't need to send them a letter tbh, wrapping them up and give them one will do. Saying that I've never sent my villagers a letter either :O I wonder if they like... respond back if you do???

They always used to, although the responses were very formulaic, also any letters you send will remain with a villager who is in boxes, so they may show it to their new island peeps (again that's how it used to work, not sure if it's still the case...)

yeah! but make sure its assessed fossils! its one of the more higher valued gifts you can give and they cant use them to decorate their room (which can ruin their original room aesthetic) so its one of the best gifts to give to your villagers.
