I adore so many Japanese music games (and Korean as a side note). :)

Other people have said more obvious ones for me so I'm going to say Gitaroo Man on the PS2. It's a rhythm game and the music in it is so damn catchy x3

anyone remember bangai-O

It was a shmup with eleventy billion things on screen at once and the oddest text based cut scenes that were either very bad translations or written buy a lunatic or possibly both. Sweaty handed intense action followed up by proper lol moments

If I am honest I am surprised there is no mention of the Phantasy Star series has been made. Very underrated and one of Sega's works where you really get to see their talent.

Did you play the DS sequel, Spirits? Not quite as good as the original but still a great game, one of the best DS games. Bangai-O was made by Treasure, the same company that did Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga and Gradius V, along with numerous fantastic non-shmup games. Great company, although unfortunately they don't have much output anymore.

Golden Sun was a fantastic JRPG, seeing as everything is getting a remaster or remake these days I wouldn't mind an updated version of this.
