Random question here, might be wrong place, but where would you say tabletop gaming fits in with the AL forum setup? It defnitely isnt GD and A&M, definitely isn't CL, which leaves us with EZ and VG. Entertainment Zone being "music, movies, television, art and culture" doesn't seem like the appropriate place for it IMO when we consider we have a Video Gaming section ( I would see video gaming and tabletop gaming as siblings or cousins). Was VG split out from EZ because it was such a large topic or something? I could see VG becoming just Gaming or something similar. Let me know if you have any knowledge on this.

Does anyone play any board games or tabletop games?(im going to count dnd). And if so do you prefer that style over video gaming?
I personally rarely tabletop since I find they usually take a lot more time and aren't single player so I can't just save and stop when I need/want to. I do dnd biweekly though.

EZ and VG were always seperate as far back as I can remember, to late 2002 when I joined. AL's biggest communities were originally anime and manga fans (obviously), gamers and roleplayers (AL once had multiple RP sections), so video gaming was given its own section just as anime and manga were. EZ has always been the catch-all section for all media besides anime, manga and video games. They just don't list every possible thing in its description because that would make it too long. GD was originally a serious debate and discussion section, but gradually become a sort of more casual discussion section for any miscellaneous subjects that didn't fit into other sections, before finally devolving into its current form as pretty much a slightly less spammy CL that apes activity from other sections half the time. So you actually could put a thread about tabletop in GD, it'd be allowed, but yeah, it's not the greatest option.

So basically EZ. But you could always pitch the Gaming section idea to staff.

I played a few tabletop games with friends at uni but less so now that ive graduated- just havent managed to find a group to do tabletop with... Which is a shame because I think its quite chill and game strategies can be picked up quiye easily. I personally learned a fair bit about tabletop by playing with friends.

Anime & gaming are the two big things for AL which is why they’re seperate
