Seems to me they're not just remaking it with better graphics and voice acting which isn't a simple task either but they're adding so much more to the world to see and explore. Honestly one of the things that left me wanting more in the original FFVII was how little he actually got to see and explore for ourselves of Midgar. If every area in the story is a place that can be fully explored in these high detail 3D HD or whatever graphics and so on, HELL YES.

I don't have a PS4 so by the time it's on Xbone/Steam ((TIMED exclusive)) the whole thing will have probably been finished and released anyways.

That they are wasting their time with it and not remaking a GOOD FF.

To each his own then. I thought for what it was, it has a strong place in JRPG history, let alone video
game history. And it does have more merits than negatives as far as its story and combat are concerned.

It makes sense that out of all the unnecessary remakes and ports they've done over the years, the one
they should've done years ago was a Final Fantasy 7 game. It's easily their most popular of the franchise.

The problem is that the "full story" of FF7 (meaning FF7, Before Crisis, Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, Last Order,
Advent Children) is actually horribly convoluted. So with a remake, it may help them "fix" their lore for the series
and make it a bit easier to understand.

Okay this game has now been released so let's bring this topic back for people to discuss how they feel about it, it's always good to see how your opinions have changed in the time it has been.

I enjoy it for what it is, sure there're things that I don't like but on the whole I think it's a great game.

I especially like that they fleshed out the rest of the Avalanche crew (Biggs, Wedge and Jessie) and gave us more information about them.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

I got bored of the Remake and haven't started playing it again. Though I did make it fairly far through the game. A lot of the extra just felt like fluff and added no real meaning to the story of the game. Graphics are the only notable improvement in my opinion. I can appreciate that they went into a lot of effort to give every character even background ones distinct features and personality. So realism was improved as well.

I liked it, but there were some bits that were a bit frustrating. I'm getting a feeling though they may go down a DLC route as well for sidequests in the original.

It looks like the whole game takes place in the first city? So it's only a remake of a tiny part of FF7? Does that also mean no Yuffie, Vincent, Cid etc?

It's being released in parts or episodes, whatever they decide to call it at any given time. It's always been advertised as such.

They're reportedly already working on part 2 but considering they've recently announced Final Fantasy XVI, who knows when we'll actually get it.

yeah none of them appeared yet
Part 2 hopefully in 2022? I wanna say 2021 but it seems unlikely
