what are your thoughts on them so far?
Personally felt the direct was rushed, they kept saying they'll show us something and it was just drawings made to look like they were pinned to a wall. I think I'd have preferred some more secrecy to it as well. They showed us all the new legendarys pretty quickly, I kinda like the surprise aspect when comes to new Pokemon coming out.

I won't draw myself back into the Dexit debate or what we should and shouldn't have had in the first place, but the Expansion pass trailer reeked of pressure and desperation IMO. I didn't like how much they revealed, given how reserved they were with the actual game

Oh I don't care bout the dexit thing. More that the direct didn't feel right to me. I normally get excited and this one I just... I dunno.

I was thinking it was a bit rushed - I mean to be honest, I only found out about the event about 2 days ago. I will obviously buy the expansions, but I’m concerned about how long they’ll actually be. I mean, all for more areas but how long will each expansion be I wonder. Plus, great for more Pokemon, but why weren’t they added from the start?

And agreed, I would have liked some mystery with regards to the legendaries.

This, exactly.
This is just another case of a half finished game being released and we're expected to puchase what SHOULD HAVE BEEN in the base game as "DLC"
The new story and characters, that stuff is fine as DLC. But adding pokemon that have been around for years as DLC is just sloppy to me, and proves the game was rushed for a Christmas release.

i thought people had moved past this and realized by now the video game industry is businesses and they're out to gouge you for money and that's how things are nowadays

they have zero incentive to not space things out and have literally been doing it from red and blue. two versions wasn't just created so that you could trade with your friends, it was also because they could sell two copies to some people and make bank

pokemon's been about making money from the start

at least the Pass isn't required to get the older Pokemon, you just can't go catch them yourself without it

Yeah... I'm not sure how I feel yet. To me seems like a lot of money on top of a game that cost nearly £50 to begin with. But guess depends how jammed packed the content is.

TBH, I feel like I've been spoilt by cheaper Season/Expansion Passes adding more content, so I may just wait and see just exactly how much depth these two new areas will have. it also depends wheher or not I'll still be playing it in the Summer
