The Joker Movie - Thoughts? Shocking or Not Really?

Post by Ferefire » 14 Oct 2019, 12:15

So, I went to see The Joker yesterday. If you've seen it, what were your thoughts on it? Shocking as people are saying, or not really? Let us know.

I went to see this movie with my husband and we both really like it. I thought the story and the acting of the main actor was amazing.
9/10

Would totally watch it again.

It's an interesting perspective, seeing things from that of the joker. The parental storyline with his mother was truly a captivating story and the finale, well without spoiling it, was perfect.

My only issue was that he didn't feel like a real threat until the flat scene, when the kid is asleep and it all falls into place

Thomas Wayne's portrayal was one thing I felt pretty clean. Usually he's portrayed as this super altruistic great human that I now realize is mostly from Bruce Wayne's worldview and the people who interact with Bruce who describes his father.

To me, that was interesting. Once you understand that Bruce will actually idolize his dad and make him out to be flawless, it makes so much more sense. But the Wayne's are old heritage money, live in their house of fancy etc. Of course, Thomas ' perspective from someone living on Gotham's other side would be different.
