Anime related: Crunchyroll app on Xbox One

Above.

I've installed the app on the Xbox One at my Parents, but it doesn't appear to work.

Without telling me to use Google, can anyone help fix it?

This seems to be a pretty common problem.

Here is a cut & paste from the Crunchyroll Knowledge Base.

"If your Xbox One is crashing or timing out before you're able to watch any videos, you should delete the app, delete the related user data, and clear your app cache before reinstalling.

If the video just remains on a black screen, please make sure that the season being selected is the base season (The English subbed version) or the English dubbed version. Then make sure your preferred language is set to English. If you are attempting to view a season dubbed in another language, please check your language settings to make sure your preferred language matches.

Because the servers for various devices are all located in different parts of the country sometimes it's a matter of pointing to the right DNS server. So let's see if updating your **Xbox One**'s DNS settings will help.

##### [OpenDNS Servers:](https://use.opendns.com/)
Primary: **208.67.222.222**
Secondary: **208.67.220.220**

##### [Google Public DNS Servers:](https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns)
Primary: **8.8.8.8**
Secondary: **8.8.4.4**

##### From your Xbox One:
1. Go to the _Dashboard_
2. Press the _Options_ button on the controller
3. Go to _Network_
4. Go to _Advanced Settings_
5. Go to _DNS settings_
6. Select _Manual_
7. Enter _Primary DNS_
8. Enter _Secondary DNS_
9. Save and Restart your XBOX One

This DNS change seems to work well with ongoing video problems."

I hope this means more to you than it does to me.

As you near the end, look back with no regrets.
