The new anime will tell the story of Lupin III as a youth, combining both stories from the original manga with new stories. The show will take place in 1960.

HIDIVE will begin streaming the six-episode anime on December 16.

I'm actually pretty psyched for this one. I wasn't exactly chomping at the bit for a lupin origin story, let alone Lupin babies featuring baby Jigen. But, the story being set in the 60's and getting a chance to lupin's dad and the original Arsene Lupin in anime form is something I can't pass up.

I wonder if this was influenced in any way by Minions: the Rise of Gru?

It does make you wonder what happened in his younger years.
