The popular anime series KonoSuba (Gods Blessing on this Wonderful World) is to get a third series, and a spinoff series based on one of it's principle characters.
KonoSuba tells the story of Kazuma Sato, a teenage shut-in who dies an embarrassingly pointless death and is given the opportunity to be reincarnated into a RPG-like fantasy world with a special power of his choosing. Kazuma tries to cheat the system by choosing to bring Aqua, the goddess who offered him a chance at a new life, to this new world with him, much to her chagrin. The two then form an adventuring guild with Megumin, an powerful but single-minded mage, and a masochistic woman named Darkness, who left behind a life of nobility in order to become a punishment-absorbing paladin.
The spin off is centred around the character Megumin, who is a mage dedicated to blowing things up, and refuses to pursue any other form of magic, and is an adaptation of the LN Konosuba: An Explosion on this Wonderful World.
Despite a change in studio, many of the original staff will be working on the third series including the Chief Director Takaomi Kanasaki. The Main Director will be Yujiro Abe (Kaguya~sama: Love is War)
The original series (Natsume Akatsuki) has become an international hit, with over 6 million copies sold. It lampoons many of the standard Isekai cliches and tropes.
Instead of a trailer, here are some funny moments from the series.
