Just got back into anime

Post by Paradox » 22 Apr 2022, 03:13

My friends pulled me back in after years of absence. Depression, whatever. Here's where I stand:

- Hajime no Ippo is the first sports anime I actually like.
- Got dropped into One Piece at episode 900something. Now I'm current with a major backlog to catch up on. A LOT has happened since the Shonen Jump days, it seems. #freewano
- Both Slime and Tsukimichi are conceptually the same isekai from two different angles.
- Platinum End was pretty cool.
- Strongest Sage is funny as hell because of how trope-filled it is.
- Ranking of Kings' ending actually brought a tear to my eye. Good stuff.
- Everyone should watch a few episodes of Ghost Stories just for a laugh.
- Scissor Seven is pretty dope, tbh.

That's where I'm at. Thoughts?

Plenty of trope filled anime out there at the moment. Isekai is the flavour of the month/year so you can take your pick.

I'm going to try spreading a wider net, so watch out for some more discussion threads.

If you like Slime, try So I'm a Spider, so what? (Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka?)

Something happened in the classroom, and Kumoko wakes up in an underground labyrinth filled with terrible monsters - and she's been reborn as a spider!

Welcome back to the world of anime that's first. Seems like your enjoying it overall and that's awesome. Any thoughts yourself on potentials or are you pretty happy with what you have now for the moment? :)

At this point, I'm looking to find stuff on Youtube. Apparently, a good chunk of Berzerk is on there, so that gives me hope for other anime. Being cheap about it, I know.

You can still watch old stuff free on Crunchyroll. Just have to put up with the adds. (I wouldn't mind if the adds were decent, but just the same ones over and over again. Must be a marketing tactic)
