Recommend me an obscure anime. I don't care about the decade, if it's new or it's old. Just recommend me a good obscure anime. My recommendation is Nadia: Secret of the Blue Water. It's a great science fiction anime inspired by Jules Verne 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and is criminally underrated. 

Haibane Renmei - a girl dreams she's falling from the sky when she meets a crow. She has no memory of who she was or how she's gotten here - wherever that may be.

A high school boy is devistated when the girl he likes confesses to his best friend - and is floored when his best friend rejects her. Walking home with a broken heart, he manages to find an obscure video shop where they rent Video Girls. The girl on the video tries her best to cheer him up, but realizes more direct action is needed - and starts climbing out of his screen. Unfortunately, his VCR needs some work.... School, Romantic Comedy.



Azusa, Otetsudai Shimasu! (Azusa Will Help)

It's 2099, and the local high school baseball team is in a pickle. Interest in baseball has waned, and the loss of their last game against a team who has sports robots, they lose another player - leaving them one short. The team pools their money and tries to buy themselves a baseball playing robot, but wind up buying an obscure older-model robot maid, with the intention of teaching her how to play. School, Sports, Robots, Romantic Comedy. 45 minute anime movie.

Not sure about the meaning of obscure, but will start with Kurozuka, Ergo Proxy and Texhnolyze. Hope is close enough.
