Looking for some for your best/favourite Sci Fi Anime

Post by sakurachan » 10 Nov 2019, 03:37

Hi Guys!

I am a long time anime fan but my boyfriend has never fully gotten in to anime until now. We are having so much fun exploring my old favourites and finding new shows!
Recently, we have watched Pokemon Sun and Moon and relived a lot of fun childhood memories. We have also explored some of the what I would call 'starter' shows in a couple of genres, obvious ones like Death Note, YGO and FMA. He is loving everything so far and I just wanted to ask the community for some good recommendations for Science Fiction! The nerdier the better, we love codes and fun audience interaction so anything goes!

It doesn't have to be sci if you have some awesome recs for us anyway of course.

Space out x

Macross Delta.

Do it.

Some others:
  Spoiler:
AICO Incarnation is good. So is Knights of Sidonia. Both are on Netflix iirc.

Inuyashiki Last Hero is good; it's on amazon prime iirc.

Shin Sekai Yori isn't what you expect from scifi but it's a masterpiece. I don't know where it is, maybe crunchyroll.

Gundam 00 is a great starter gundam. Most Gundams have exceptionally good plots and characters, and this one does too.

Irresponsible Captain Tylor is a great comedy with all the 90s charm.

People starting out on anime tend to like Code Geass. It often gets compared to death note. I like it.

But Macross Delta.
Or Macross Frontier. It's good too.
But Delta is better.

I love Ghost in the Shell, or at least I've loved what I've seen in the past.
It was a while back now and I haven't seen the movie yet...

Thanks for the recs <3

Since you've watched Ghost in the Shell, I'm going to suggest Appleseed and the movie Black Magic M-66, two of Shirow Masamune's other titles.
