What's your take on this one?

I don't see any rationale for claiming it's inappropriate nor do I personally feel any disapproval for it.
My prudishness is not in this.

Granted, when you consider that 1) scantily clad characters are blatantly an attempt to use sex to get viewership and 2) being faithful to the anime would entail doing the same... well, it's not something I would do.

But it's not my problem, either.

For me it's a really difficult question.

I mean, I don't have any prudishness, that's not a part of the question for me.

It's more like:
1. Normal porn is (in general, often) harmful to women. Let's call the harmful one "coercive porn". It's because of the culture surrounding it. It's difficult to distinguish between coercive vs non-coercive one.
2. Nudity out of cultural context or in a proper cultural context is not harmful to anyone.
3. Cosplay is just fun and it's not harmful to anyone. (But there are psycho fans of course.)
4. Cosplay can turn into coercive porn and coercive porn can use cosplay as a fetish (or for whatever other reason). Coercive porn can pretend to be just cosplay.

I'm still thinking about the right answer to that.

So I donno.

Outside of otherwise already coercive circumstances, I don't see how voluntary cosplay can become coercive porn.

I mean I can run across the street naked and having exercised that judgement, I don't think I have any right to say what people do with the pictures.

That seems a good reason not to support that by parody.
