It's interesting how much Char is surprised by the combat ability of Gundam and its technological superiority and that he cannot defeat it despite him being much more experienced. It's a very rare element in stories. Most works rather try to show that the most important element is the human element. But this show tells us that in this case human element is not so important. I like it. So even if one is a great hero or an experienced soldier, one cannot defeat Gundam!!!

yeah, it's unlike the gundams that came after it in that regard.

Watched up to episode 6, it's a great anime with a well written sci fi story. imo it has definitely stood the test of time, i'll certainly be watching more.

I think it would have made more sense for the commander of Luna II to assign some military personnel to White Base rather than just sending off all the civilians on their joy ride while the most senior officer leading them just died.

You'd think there would have been some communication between Luna 2 and Federation headquarters about White Base. Why didn't they track the ship and know it was coming down in enemy territory?
