Genre: Horror. Historical. Vampires. Demons. Shounen. Fights.
Synopsis (from MAL)
Since ancient times, rumors have abounded of man-eating demons lurking in the woods. Because of this, the local townsfolk never venture outside at night. Legend has it that a demon slayer also roams the night, hunting down these bloodthirsty demons. For young Tanjirou, these rumors will soon to become his harsh reality...
Ever since the death of his father, Tanjirou has taken it upon himself to support his family. Although their lives may be hardened by tragedy, they've found happiness. But that ephemeral warmth is shattered one day when Tanjirou finds his family slaughtered and the lone survivor, his sister Nezuko, turned into a demon. To his surprise, however, Nezuko still shows signs of human emotion and thought...
Thus begins Tanjirou's quest to fight demons and turn his sister human again.

The backgrounds are pretty distinct in this one too
actually all the art style is. The angular style of the character art intrigues me.

Ep 3
I thought most of this episode was dull and necessary and glad it'd be over with in one episode, but that ending was a lot more interesting than I anticipated.
In the end, were Sabito and Momuko(?) real? Were they ghosts of the stone or some shit? Assuming they were real, how did Tanjiro cut the boulder?
In other words, what the fuck just happened.

And that's the question! We'll need to wait for further episodes to find out.

I'll create the threads for good™ anime when the list is ready, so I can put the details and the synopsis in the first post of this thread as well. You can edit it later of course.

They were real. He said he already cut the boulder, so he must be Urokadaki's former student. Maybe he sent Sabito to push Tanjiro a little bit. I think that to cut the boulder he needed the mental and spiritual strength. It's impossible to cut a massive stone with a tiny blade without breaking it.
If someone would give such a task I would give up. It would seem impossible and pointless, but when you get a rival - you get a goal, something to make you keep going.
I'm also glad that they put this in one episode. It was an important part and without that I would feel that the plot was rushed.

Another possibility is that they were ghosts of dead students.

That's also very likely

That was a great episode. I feel like this keeps getting a little better each time.
The shots of Nezuko suggest she's thinking.
I wonder if she'll go with him
