Admittedly, I tend to go with the sad songs.

My fave is Joe Hisaishi, I could listen to his scores non-stop for the rest of my life and still enjoy every second. Particular favourite is the Princess Mononoke soundtrack.

Could fill half this thread up with JoJo music alone. Probably because it uses so many 80s and 90s anthems. Half of them ascended meme status long ago.

Instead I'll go for what I feel is one of the more underrated in-house tracks from Diamond Is Unbreakable.

[mention=107054]Erine[/mention] If I'm allowed to generalise, yes. Of course there are some exceptions e.g. Yoko Kanno. But this is not what people usually consider when thinking about "anime music", as far as I understand this term.

I think a lot of people mean op and ed songs when they say anime music, but that doesn't really make sense to me since aren't bands usually contracted for those? I get that bands will make songs specifically for op and ed, but is that enough to give them the distinction of anime music?
