Re: Remembering Favorites
Hmm Haibane Renmei might need considering.
Oh, you already have it on your list.
I think I'll put it on mine. Need to consider where though.
lol you put GATE on yours. I really enjoyed it, but I won't.

Re: Remembering Favorites
It's funny how things like Eromanga Sensei are dissed by some people.
Re: Remembering Favorites
Let me check your list as well to copy-paste.
Re: Remembering Favorites
I honestly started watching it when I wanted cheap ecchi. I imagine it's the same for anyone who can read the title.
And yes indeed: If I was ranking movies I'd have put Patema Inverted on mine too.

Re: Remembering Favorites
I haven't seen some stuff on your list, so I can't put these on my of course.
Re: Remembering Favorites
I didn't put a lot of my favorite shonen on mine either. One Piece, Naruto, My Hero Academia. I feel like these are also hard to value the same way as a neatly packaged series. One Piece especially. How can you compare a story that takes two seasons versus one that's been ongoing for 20+ years?
Naruto I'm kinda tempted to put on just because I think it's a great story, a great world, and great characters, with a lot of charm at times and excellent social commentary at others. There's a lot of objective value in Naruto I think.
Fuck it I'm putting Naruto on my list.
My Hero Academia less so just because it's ongoing.

Re: Remembering Favorites
I have Naruto on my list.
"How can you compare a story that takes two seasons versus one that's been ongoing for 20+ years?"
Exactly!
MHA is not on my list.

Re: Remembering Favorites
Naruto is in my top 20.
Seems strange to think about since I never bothered ranking it before but yeah, that's how much value I see it in I guess.

Re: Remembering Favorites
Yeah, it's good. I am honest when I say I am too old for it. It's difficult to "identify" with the main character and his problems for me. When I was younger it was easier.
Re: Remembering Favorites
Hm. I don't seem to have a strong need to identify with characters.
Though I guess maybe that's the same feeling I get when I watch school slice of life shows and I think oh my god how young they are what the fuck was I like this I don't remember
some of them anyway.
some of them make me feel young again.
some of them make me feel old.
Heh. shit.

Re: Remembering Favorites
Well, I don't HAVE to identify with them. But Naruto is much more fun, if one does. Or maybe it's a wrong word. I mean, it was more fun, when the problems Naruto had (school, friends, passing exams) were similar to mine.
Re: Remembering Favorites
I feel like Heroic Age, while exceptionally generic, did a GREAT job of showing scales of power and intensity. The abilities of the characters were interesting enough and the action was solid, I'd probably put it in my top 20. Characterization was very bland though.

Re: Remembering Favorites
Oh, I don't know this one.
