I watched ep 15

It's a good start.

the retainers are more mild than they are in the LN. Maybe that was always the case with more characters, I don't remember.

The orphanage director's quarters are a lot nicer than what I imagined.

I think it’s about right after all the LN clearly stated it was quarters for a noble.

Further those who visited believed they were visiting a noble as well.

It's good news. Manga isn't my thing, but it'll surely boost the popularity of the series which means more Light novels and anime will be published too.

I just finished the sixth book. I still have one of the side stories left to read.

A lot happened in it. In fact there's a lot that could be talked about that happened it too. Because it open up a lot more questions then it answered. We could speculate on quite a bit.

The plot has started to get build up. I find myself wondering what will have happen next.

I find myself considering the J-novel membership too.

While it has benefits, there's a lot to be desired for too. I don't if the cost is justifiable. For one Light novel series, it certianly is not in my opinion. I'll have to see what else they have to offer.

If you are watching the anime my spoiler will be a huge spoiler. So skip it. If you have read part 2, volume 3 of the Light Novels than it won’t be a spoiler just speculation.

  Spoiler:
I'm fairly sure Sylvester is not a Blue Priest, he's just wearing the robes of one.

1. His room was empty

2. It was pointed out that Sylvester actually had a fair amount of mana

3. It was also pointed out that the other blue priests besides Ferdinand and Myne none of the current Blue priests had much mana.

4. The High Priest did little to correct Sylvester, and actually really didn't (This means Sylvester is either of the same rank or higher, most likely as a noble)

5. Sylvester took the 2nd Hand Clothes idea without complaint as if he was already in hiding anyways

6. Sylvester does not act like a priest (He lounges around in the High Priest's quarters)

7. Ferdinand immediately did as Sylvester instructed during the ambush battle and further apologized to Myne for his action.

8. It was made clear only the High Bishop outranked Ferdinand among the priests.

9. It was also made clear that blue priests were avoiding Myne, Sylvester wasn't doing this at all.

10. Sylvester had to leave (so either he's usually never at the temple, which would be odd or he isn't a blue priest was pretending to be one.)

11. Benno obviously recognized him and was completely unprepared, and Sylvester recognized that Benno had and immediately talked to him in private.

12. Benno wouldn't say anything to Myne about what took place in said meeting, it's doubtful Benno would recognize a blue priest in such a way.

So the question is why would Sylvester do all this? There's a high chance that Sylvester is either the Arch Duke or Ferdinand's brother who would then likely be the Arch Duke's son. Or they closely related. The fact that he stated no one tells him what to do, he's probably the Arch Duke.

Of course I am merely speculating. I think he likes Myne though because everyone usually just compliments him, no matter what. Myne is refreshing because she's honest and wears her emotions.

Which spoiler?! I didn't see it.

in deed, £5 (? or about) a month for just one novel isn't worth at all. But I guess there has to be few other novels than can made it worth. And yes! now the plot has a quite interesting go. where will end ...

Spoiler added, but as I stated it's speculation.

Which is something we can do until the next book arrives. Which I believe may or may not confirm my speculation. I'm sure the beginning of part 3 or the end of part 2 will reveal if my speculation is on mark or not.

I just finished watching episode 18.

Seems fairly mild compared to the same events that occurred in the LN.

I had that thought as well.
I thought the orphanage was the thing that would make this season interesting, but it might be too clipped.

That look was very well done though.

Hm, actually this arc might make the season good anyway, just because I like it.

I found out something quite interesting. Ascendance of a Bookworm didn't really pick up popularity in Japan until Part 3 came out. That probably means the anime is going to at least continue until that part is covered. Who knows about part 4 & 5.

I still believe that season 2 will only cover the first half of part 2 which means it'd be season 4 that would start covering part 3 which gained the series its popularity.

  Spoiler:
Myne will be just turning 10 when part 3 begins and she'll be attending a magical academy.

Her name will also be changed to protect her family.

I'm sure to those who are keeping up the the anime/ translated LN novels that means a lot is still to come that will be most interesting.

I just episode 19 and as expected it's coming toward the end of the 4th Light novel, Part 2 volume 1. I expected episode 20 will end where Part volume did or close to it. Then episode 21 will pick up at the begining of the 5th book and this season will end toward the end of the 5th book too.

Hopefully that'll mean Ascendance of a Bookworm will continue next season to finish Part 2 since it has 4 volumes not 2. Though I must admit the end of Part 2 volume 2 is a good stopping point.

I've already read Part 2 volume 3, the 6th Light Novel. The 7th isn't out yet. I'll be reading too as I enjoyed the 6th book. The 6th book has a good stopping point too.

Saying that the books leaves a lot of underlying plots unanswered.
