Re: Which type of anime fan are you?
I watch a lot of anime when I get the chance. I'm okay with mecha, big fan of romantic comedies and sci fi. Watch my fair share of horror, too. Not sure if that chart can define me.

Wat a time waste watching that video. TT__TT
I;m the in the "Hardcore" side. And like Expendable, and many of you ... I watched and watching EVERYTHING< Shoujo, Shounen, Yuri, Horror, Romcom, Absurd <Bo Bobobo, Dr. Sllump...> ... and many more indistinctly ...
so that "Chart" does not apply also to me.

Don't treat it too seriously. But if you do this, you certainly are a hardcore fan.![]()

Also, I don't understand that "fighting" factions between Anime watcher, Manga reader, or LN reader, I did all, and enjoying all in his own way.

Re: Which type of anime fan are you?
I’m a hardcore anime fan, no doubt about it.
But I hardly have the time or interest to watch 5 airing episodes each season.
I watch an hour or two most days, if not more unless I’m reading a LN. The current airing shows don’t always interest me.
So watching anime or reading Manga or Light Novels for an hour or more everyday in average would be hardcore.
Casual would be a couple hours a week or less.

Re: Which type of anime fan are you?
I do remember that years ago there was an argument that manga was better than anime and vice versa and each group were heated and insisted they were right.
But that’s just an opinion and nothing more. Each of us has a right to our own opinions and they should be respected. Fighting over them is not respectful and shameful.
So I believe that video was a waste of time, so is the chart.
It hardly covers the different types of fans of anime, manga, and light novels. Let alone a serious conflict today. It’s rare that I hear anyone argue about Manga being better than anime today outside just stating it’s what they like and seriously don’t believe others should like it too.
I don’t like Manga and never will. But I like Anime and Light Novels.
I will actuality state some anime is better than the Light Novel, the same or the Light Novel is. I won’t state one way or the other about Manga because I don’t know and don’t want to know.
So why don’t I like Manga. They put me to sleep, I’ve tried to read them but they are all just boring but that’s just me. Comic style media doesn’t appeal to me. I’m happy that Light Novels made there way to the market because reading does appeal to me.

I think that the medium is not important here. If you prefer to spend the same amount of time e.g. reading LNs, then you're also a hardcore fan. But you're not a hardcore ANIME fan, but a hardcore light novels fan or a hardcore manga fan or a hardcore LNs/manga/light novels fan (if you do all of them and choose the medium each time).

Yeah, I think each person should use the medium which is the best for them. If they read/watch (more or less) the same stories, there is some room for discussion etc. It's one fandom.
